This diet is probably the most iconic fad diet of all time, and it’s the first one of its kind to take over the weight loss skies. The cabbage soup diet has one huge fault – it lacks protein, and we all know that we need protein to preserve lean body mass. Also, who wants to eat practically nothing but cabbage soup for weeks?
The Alkaline Diet
The alkaline diet is claimed to be the perfect food regime for balancing pH levels of your blood and urine. However, scientist claim that the human body is perfectly capable of keeping pH levels where they need to be, so cutting caffeine, sweets, meat, wheat, and other foods won’t affect your body’s pH levels. It will grant you weight loss, but it won’t have anything to do with the alkaline diet.
The Master Cleanse
The master cleanse diet has been around for a long time, but it wasn’t so popular until Beyonce accredited it for losing a lot of weight for her role in Dreamgirls. It’s based on the consumption of a mixture of water, lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper – and nothing else. It’s incredibly bad for your body, and the only mass you’re going to lose is muscle mass.
