7 Healthy Everyday Habits To Become And Stay Highly Productive

Successful people keep a tight schedule, and they aim to balance their personal with their professional lives (which is something they usually pull off), while fitting as much work as possible into one day. Of course, in order for that day to be fully successful, it needs to run efficiently without any glitches.

If you would like to be:

  • efficient
  • successful
  • punctual
  • diligent,

you have to be aware that in order to do so you need to take care of yourself and your body first.

The trick is to have a packed, compact and healthy day. If you manage to pull that off, you’ll be as productive as it gets!

1. The Night Before

You day should start the night before, and if you think about it, it makes sense. In order to do everything you’ve planned, you need to be well rested.

That means that you have to approach your bedtime with a routine and you have to treat it as a chore – perhaps the most important chore in the world.

Before hitting the hay, ensure that you know what’s on your calendar for the following day. Go over all of your appointments, calls, deadlines, etc.

Prepare the stuff you’ll need in the morning (like lunch, bags, documents) and set it aside. Turn off all of your electronics which might make noises during the night so you avoid getting your sleep interrupted.

2. Move!

As soon as you wake up, get out of bed! Yes, it’s hard (especially if you’re not a morning person), but your mind and body will be grateful. Go to the gym, take a walk, go for a run, do a yoga routine – whatever you like, just make sure that you get your body moving.

You’ll be surprised how much energy you will have during the day and your head will be much clearer.

3. Meditate

After a dose of much needed energy, it’s time to tame your brain and prepare it for the day ahead. Meditation is an essential workout for your brain, and it only takes 10-20 minutes. This will help you manage your day in an effective, adaptable, and productive manner with less stress.

4. Organizing

Download an app which will help you stay organized and punctual. An efficient day asks for a nice and neat to-do list. Also, you can hire someone to assist you with this if it makes you feel better.

5. Eat!

Food is fuel, and if you want to go about your day with enough energy to do everything you have planned, you have to eat regularly!

  • Don’t skip meals
  • Don’t eat fast food on the go
  • Don’t replace your whole meal with a Snickers bar

You need nourishing, healthy food to maintain a good level of energy throughout the day. Try to maintain a healthy meal routine and snack frequently.

6. Time Batching

This is an amazing way of getting that needed uninterrupted productive time in your day. Make sure that you:

  • have at least one hour per day reserved for batched time
  • use this time to brainstorm, solve problems, think
  • and generally handle work without being interrupted.

7. Evening Disconnection

When you leave work and get home, try to disconnect from work and focus on:

  • Yourself
  • your family
  • friends
  • pets
  • your hobbies

Getting enough “you time” will ensure that you keep doing an outstanding job at work because only then will you be truly fulfilled in all aspects of life.
